The Regional Council of South Ostrobothnia implements, in accordance with the decisions of the Regional Assembly, the Regional Board and the other bodies of the Council, - tasks according to the Regional Plan and the Regional Land Use Plan, as stated in the Land Use Act and the Construction Act
- tasks according to the Regional Plan, the Regional Strategic Programme and its Implementation Plan, as tated in national and EU legislation on regional policy
- other statutory tasks assigned to the Regional Council
- advocacy of the region and tasks related to culture, education and municipal affairs, assigned to the Regional Council by its member municipalities
- certain project implementation tasks related to regional development

We have built an expert development organisation acting as an active and cooperation-oriented initiative taker for the region in important development projects. We strive to act in a flexible and practical way, taking the regional special features and values into account. The office of the Regional Council of South Ostrobothnia is divided into separate areas of responsibility. These areas of responsibility are Management, administration and communication Cooperation and networking Regional development Regional planning Internationalization Administration and implementing of organization´s own projects Executions and reimbursements of financial decisions
