PrimCareIT was a flagship initiative funded by the EU’s Interreg IV B –programme, and it was to improve the attractiveness of remote primary healthcare organisations in sparsely populated areas in particular, and to counteract the brain drain of personnel. These objectives were to be met by utilising ICT in healthcare personnel’s consultations, networking and skills development. The project’s activities comprised of different consultations in healthcare centres and special healthcare, and developing a new set of skills for the healthcare personnel.
